Mission Statement

 

The purpose envisioned for the Chesapeake Bay Company is

1. To provide congenial association among members descended from Jamestowne Society Ancestors;

2. To honor those ancestors by commemoration of events of the early history of the Colony of Virginia;

3. To discover and preserve family records and history of the first settlers of the Colony of Virginia;

4. To encourage, participate in and support historical research of the Colony of Virginia;

5. To promote recognition of Jamestowne as the first permanent English settlement in North America;

6. To support efforts to restore ancient structures and early sites of significance in Virginia;

and

7. To further the principles and objectives of the parent Jamestowne Society.
