The Spring Meeting of the Chesapeake Bay Company took place on May 9 at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church in Montross, Westmoreland County.

Thanks go to the women of the church for catering the luncheon.

Jean Booth McKenney, Company Governor, convened the Executive Committee meeting at 10 A.M., followed by the Membership Meeting at 10:30 A.M.

The speaker was Robert N. McKenney, spouse of the Company General, who has researched the Ball family history and genealogy for many years, whose talk focused on Joseph Ball II of Morattico Plantation, located in Lancaster County. Mr. McKenney's intense research on the subject produced interesting excerpts of the letters which illustrated life in colonial times, and, in particular, the running of a plantation, which was quite complex.
